From the 23rd May, repeat prescriptions that are sent to Day Lewis pharmacy will be dispensed at a remote hub and then delivered to the pharmacy to be given out to patients.

What this means for Day Lewis

This change will mean that Day Lewis staff have more time to spend with patients who require advice from their pharmacist, as well as those who have been referred to the Pharmacy First Service.

What this means for You

  • If your repeat prescriptions are dispensed by Day Lewis, and you wait for them to send you a text before collecting your prescription, there will be no change for you.
  • If you see a GP, and they issue you an acute prescription, you can still take this to Day Lewis who will dispense it for you while you wait.
  • If your repeat prescriptions are dispensed by Day Lewis, but you come to collect them from Day Lewis before they are ready, you will no longer be able to sit and wait for them to dispense this for you immediately. You may be asked to come back at a later time.

Your prescription will still be dispensed in the normal time frame, it is simply being dispensed off site, and therefore the staff at Day Lewis are not able to rush your prescription through or dispense it any sooner.

Patient Notice

For Day Lewis to maintain patient safety, they require 7-10 working days from ordering your prescription with the GP to processing and having this ready for collection (this does not include weekends and bank holidays).

If you have signed up for the texting service then please wait for a text message from Day Lewis before coming to the pharmacy.

Please be aware that you may be asked to call back at a later time to collect your prescription.
